In Dublin Again,
Home Sweet Home, Family, Friends.
Where will I go next?
Finally, I arrived in Dublin Saturday on the overnight from Atlanta. It's been almost exactly a month since I last departed. I will be here until Tuesday when I will leave for a couple of days in Copenhagen.
Since Jinny has to work on Saturday's, I got out on my bike to go for a haircut on Moore Street. It was cold and my legs were stiff and weak from going so long without any real exercise.
Moore Street is home to the nascent Nigerian business community in Dublin. There you can find fresh meats and produce, get a haircut or a home-cooked African meal or have a Chinese guy remove the SIM card security lock from your cell phone. Recently the shop where my Nigerian barber works was gutted by fire. I was thinking maybe it was something racially motivated. My barber thinks otherwise--the Nigerian mafia. Just as the Chinese gangs (or Triads) have followed (and prey upon) the Chinese immigrants pouring into Ireland, I suppose the African community is similarly afflicted.
On the way home I picked up the groceries, laundry and freshly cut flowers. Remembering fondly my culinary indulgence at the Whole Hog Cafe in Little Rock, I decided to barbecue some pork ribs for dinner. Jinny provided some fried kimchi and our friend Yoon Suk (also from Korea, he works in the same Salon as Jinny) brought the Smirnoff and Diet 7. Later we went out to the Front Lounge for drinks with friends.
It's Sunday morning here now. I slept 12 hours last night. It sure is nice to be home--if only for a little while.
I would also like to take this opportunity to thank Reg for the Buddha. Jinny and I love it and we've made a little shrine.

Finally, I also got an update from Phil Spivey this morning. I previously wrote about Adelaide, Phil and his partner Roberto's daughter. Here is a new picture of Adelaide.
